Would you want to date a Harry Potter fan?
On MTV’s Disaster Date that’s exactly what happened
It was season four, episode one
When the Harry Potter hater was set up for fun

Anthony wanted to talk about his band
But his blind date wanted to talk with an accent
She pretended to be British and a wizard too
And poor Anthony didn’t know what to do

She pulled out a wand right out of her bag
“Love-me-o,” she said, as her “spell” was cast
Ordering drinks she continued the ruse
Smiling as she said, “butter beer or pumpkin juice”

To the “Waitresso” she called, “sit down the glasso”
“Aha, my spell worked,” she said, pleased at the fiasco
She threw some dragon powder over her shoulder
The waitress brought a broom, and she took hold of her

“This reminds me of a Nimbus 2000,” she said with a smile
Then galloped around the room on the broom for a while
The waitress told Anthony to stop his girlfriend, and he replied,
That it wasn’t his girlfriend that was flying by

At the end of an hour she confessed the big news
And gave him $60 for surviving the ruse
She also gave him a “magical souvenir”
The broom she was using, and then it was cheers

I remember the show because it was funny
And now I can use it obnoxiously on my honey
When I’m feeling ornery, I give my finger wand a go
And touch his head, singing out “love-me-o!”

A fun write, and one obviously for the contest. Can't say I'm a Harry Potter fan either, but I don't berate those who are. This is good...should do well in the contest! Love, Robert.

Never heard of MTV's Disaster Date, but got a big kick out of your poem, Susan. I'm still trying to imagine her galloping around the room on the broom. Well done for the contest -- unique, original and entertaining as well. Best wishes for success. Love, Carolyn
