Fault Line

One day this
whole
        structure
   we have built
with our minds, limbs and hands
    will topple into
the ocean
   The glory of our
world
      shall pass into history
As the karmic wheel
   turns
your futile struggle
    will end in defeat
All this grandeur shall
        perish
leaving only traces
as its legacy
     Take the
path
     which was not
made by the hands of
       man
It's the one way
which will keep you
       from despair
   As the clock winds
down
    Let your spirit soar
Only one candle
     will continue to
burn in the end
Let is be yours!

This is brilliant writing, Matthew! I must agree with Yoni on the double meaning here, but I love the way you offer an uplifting ending. Excellent poetry! Love, Carolyn

I like the double meaning I'm projecting on your title, fault line is where the earth cracks and swallows civilization and also it's humanity's fault for being so irresponsible as to warrant this karmic retribution.I might be wrong though, it wouldn't be the first time I've read into something too much:) I'd direct you back to the book written by that guy I told you about if you want to know who the master is.I can tell you but it would sound really far fetched coming from me. www.garyrenard.com

Wow! So much to ponder in this poem. Creative use of imagery. The spacing and short lines work well. Thank you for sharing your talent with us and for taking time to comment on my poem. Keep on writing! Have a good weekend. Karen

We have choice we do not like to use though we fight for freedom with passion unreserved ... great insight into the state of things ... a karmic delight
