Fathers Day
Fueled by a passion to feed and cloth his family,
And ever ready to assure our protection and security,
The role my father played in leadership was a model.
He was a long way from perfection, but he did his best.
Entrepreneurship was in his blood, and he mastered it.
Reality was what he faced, wasting no time for complaining.
Sundays after church were days he often took us to visit relatives.
Demanding and driven, he taught us industriousness and initiative.
Attitudes of rebellion and fighting among siblings were never tolerated.
Yesterday was a timeline from which to move on; dad believed in tomorrow.
