Fathers Day
From the first moment we met
After the war was over,
To the time I buried you,
How I feared and yet loved you.
Everything I ever did
Regardless how hard I tried,
Somehow, was never enough.
Dad, I never felt your love
All I felt were angry fists,
Yet, mom said, it did exist.
