Father
A tiny tot faces a new sight. She looks quietly ahead without feeling fright.
He gives her a great big hug and a kiss on the cheek.
Before the beginning of church services he gives her beautiful fans to keep her
busy, training her slowly to listen to the word, while preaching behind the pulpit on
Sundays each week.
Although her daddy may have been in and out of her life, her emotions never toiled.
She didn't have to worry or feel the need to bother.
There was an active role model in her life who kept her grounded in life.
This preacher man is who she decided was her main father.
He combed her hair, played the piano, and taught her not to be a fool.
And, he was another person in her life who made sure she ate a wholesome
breakfast before taking her to school.
When grand church parties were thrown, she was never sent away.
Instead, this man sweetly told her that if she promised to behave and be a good
girl, he'd give her a toy, candied wax with juice, and let her stay.
After trick-or-treating she was never left alone.
She joined his other children. Along with him, they went to either a movie or
entertainment was provided in the mansion-style home.
There were summers spent there. Supplies were always provided for her, especially
paint.
She constantly expressed herself on her mother's walls.
Knowing this, he knew the remedy by being the first of many every year for
Christmas, giving supplies to paint on paper, and an easel for art.
And, for this reason she did her extracurricular activities quiet as a church mouse.
Sometimes sneaking plucks on the harp in the church.
Due to this remedy, she never wrote in crayon or drew on the walls of his house.
When the little girl got older and enrolled in the band, he acted quickly, like the
speed of a jet.
And, he sent her a package in the mail, containing a clarinet.
En route, the instrument was stolen. For a moment she felt sullen.
The attempted delivery was appreciated. A happy family is what she came from.
Another clarinet was purchased and provided by her mom.
Because she was influenced and well loved by this individual, a male role model and
daddy was never lacking.
He filled those roles like a shoe that fits perfectly. And being a preacher as well gave
her spiritual backing.
Unlike most girls without the male parent present at times, she was unaffected
emotionally.
Further, saying,"Why bother?", because the very special man she always
considered her daddy was her grandfather.
