Father

Father, I do love You, Tho sometimes I do go wrong, It isn't cause I want to Why can't I just be strong? You gave Your Son to help me To guide me on my way, His way was peace and love, As He died they heard Him Pray. "Father, please forgive them, For they know not what they do." Now centuries later, would He still speak These pleading words to You? Through wars and conflicts, hate and jeers, His Words still echo through the years, But what I fear most is just how long Your patience can absord these wrongs. Father, I know, I struggle with my words, I ask forgiveness and give thanks, But it's what I do that hurts. I do not mean to cause You pain I'm a mother and I know, Our children give us joy and love But they also give us woe. Again I ask forgiveness Not only for myself, But for all of those who don't believe, I pray, please let them pass. Patience is a virtue Only You can understand, These tears I shed are tears of hope Your patience is at hand. Father, I do love You Please help me to be strong, You gave me all these talents, Can I help someone along? I do not mean to waste them, I need help to know the way, Maybe I can then atone For the wrongs I've done today. Father, I do thank You For listening as I pray, Maybe I have helped someone, Earn their wings today. Cile Beer written 2003
