Father

Father you have taught me many things
Like how to hurt alone because you won't talk to me
Father I still learned your lessons I did it from a distance because a man must learn by paying attention right

I tell everyone the lessons you taught. Me
I even make up clever analogies', ones I bet
You would of used to teach me if I wasn't
So good at learning from watching you

Father I have come so far why are you so distant
And why are you so angry did I not learn well at all
I stayed out of your way and now years later I
Pick you up when you fall and im patient with you
As you blame me for some things to take peoples
Attention of the confusion your unsure of who you are

Father I want so bad to remind you of who you are
Every time I pick you up your pride is hurt and I want to
Tell you it's OK through the actions I show which I.
Learned from watching you but you just get aggravated

Father is it true that you never was teaching me a thing
That maybe I was in your way and thats why you didn't
         Talk to me
Father im sorry for not being the way you wanted me

But I still learned many lessons and now I have
Taught some to. No matter how bad you screw me up
I will still be here for you because that's what seperate
Us. I will be a good man with nothing to show

Another lesson you taught. Me the world is cold
Then you took my jacket my boots and hair
I cant seem to get to you but I am right here
Last lesson dad im your son I will be ok I will miss you
You taught me how to live and showed me how to die
Today I show with pride what of you is left behind
