Fate-Dreaming, Dream-Waiting

In my youth, sometimes walking down the street, I daydreamed,
fantasizing all the thrills fate had in store for me.
Reveries of romance became reality for such unbelievably short time
at last I tossed those foolish daydreams to the side!

What good were they? It seems to me, we’re dealt
fate’s hand, whatever it may be. Now as I grow older (wiser?)
I know where wishful thinking gets me. Old reveries have died.
I wonder now if it’s too late to wait again for fate to realize new dreams!

I really enjoyed reading your wonderful poem and especially the message behind it, you see that being a child I saw some perfect dreams, a perfect life, with a perfect job, but since I am growing older, I can see that dreams fading away, with each and every day, no matter I much I tried, the difficult thing is not to see dreams, but to fulfill them and what more difficult is when your dream is broken, then seeing a new dream anyway many congratulations on your win in the contest , good luck

I can't help but have this make me think that it is important to know when you are actually living parts of your dreams. Those little God winks so to speak. :) Have a nice day living in the present. :)

Oh love this looking into your day dreams, your poetry Andrea, does seem to bring one closer, in that, different culture, country, so many poets on here, with the same outlook towards life, and having lived it...All in all your poems speak so many languages, yet the same theme. there would be no wars, if everyone listened.

I love this Andrea :)...I can surely relate!...although my dreams when I was young were to be on stage, and to have a horse who would come to my call...had those come and go already...time for new dreams as you say so well here! Nothing new for me, just visiting today...have a good one :)
