Fate

tonight i can not find my slumber
toxic thoughts confound my mind
i wait in line to take my number
unprepared for what i may find
with no control of its conclusion
just one draw of bated breath
still i hold on to a fools illusion
the one true thing i still have left
i have no power just the waiting
yet i feel my worlds in threat
to watch my other souls debating
internal fears of what she may get
tonight i can not find my slumber
my every thought upon her heart
take her place and steal the number
let fate choose me to play its part

I can feel your toxic thoughts, keeping you awake, and it does make you feel powerless. Nicely written, Darren.
