Fast Food, Fast Death

Let’s get some pizzas nice and cheesy Nothing to cook, life is easy Another quick fix, just what we need Fast food, at lightning speed. Food can fix most of our troubles Deliveroo, comes to our homely bubble Stay in and they deliver Bad for your heart, bad for your liver A gallon of coke, quench your thirst Rot your teeth, a trip in a hearse Your fast-food gut expands and enlarges Let’s a buy a fourteen-seat sofa For a couple of barges. Look in the mirror a gastric disaster Use some pills as a sticking plaster Fatigue, couples the weariness of sloth Cheese up some bread and finish the loaf. David Cox 24/06/22

well Dave i understand the wisdom in this advice....line by line you drive home the wisdom therein...myself i ceased cooking long ago...but i hardly ever drive-thru, more so a frozen dinner guy...but i do blender veggies, spinach base....my mother, Southern cook, ate bacon, sausage, pork chops, butter, eggs, fried chicken, gravy, and smoked...and died at 95...while your lines hang on Truth's vine....DNA i keep telling Doc is in this equation and mom had cereals too Cream of Wheat and oatmeal...never Coco-Puffs

i am like you i come from good genes but also wise enough not to push it...my uncle liked bourbon and heard often at his funeral the whiskey finally got him at 97...i have not had a drop for the last 28 years....i have a great liver, kidney, heart, and singing bowels and 20 years a diabetic...my blender sings spinach, onions, celery, kale, hot-hot-sauce and more...doing the best i can living alone

Hi Timothy, easier to write than do...guilty as charged. I take kale tablets as a token contribution. I try to eat more fibre for a day or so, but it tastes like cardboard. I'm heartened, forgive the pun, by my grandfather who smoked from the age of eight and died at ninety-two. To my credit, I don't smoke or drink, so perhaps fate will smile on me. Take care and thanks for reading.

Great pen Dave telling a real true lesson with nice rhyme and flow with good imagery too. Good to read another fellow Brit, I'm North of the border. Gordon

I bought a pizza and thought, 'What the hell is this?' Thanks for reading Gordon. My best thoughts to Beautiful Scotland. Dave
