Farm Life
The sounds of the morning
As the sun starts to rise;
The birds, they are chirping
As the rooster, he cries.
The chores, they are waiting;
Cows ready to provide
The milk for my coffee
On which that I thrive.
The eggs in the henhouse
Soon to be in my pan
Will give me the strength
To do all that I can.
To get through each day
With the work on this farm
Is getting harder and harder
And is losing its charm.
But, here in the evening
On my front porch chair,
The joy the farm gives me
Is beyond all compare.
