Farewell To Summer

F orming leisure into priceless summer memories A round campfires and backyard bar-b-ques R equires little but long days of June’s welcome sunshine E ventful gathering of July’s sunsets in blazing hues W hile we linger to watch the August night ignite the stars E veryone contently wrapped in summers warm cloak L oving week-ends of mountain paths and lakeside swims L uscious scents of roses, lilies and brief gentle rains T ranscends our senses as days fall towards September rites O n summer winds come Autumns chilling quick breath S urrounded with lush gardens of ample harvest baskets U nder umbrellas shaded canopy our final days of vacations M arking the end of summer as we swim against the transition M asking the shorter days with the last pitch of our tents E xperience finally the first fog laced mornings of webs with dew R esisting the final farewell to summer as Autumn colors wave 10-3-2020 Farewell to Summer Pick-A-Title, Vol 23 - Seasonal Acrostic - Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Edward Ibeh

I loved all the summer delights you wove into your tapestry, but particularly the hiking, camping, and lake swimming. But bar-b-ques and stargazing are pretty wonderful too. Farewell, summer! Loved this, Jeanne. Best wishes in the contest,

Hi John...ahhh, summer and all the special things that we do together...but fall, oh fall with it's blazing trees full of color. We have something to look forward to always. :D
