Farewell To Love

We used to be so close
find comfort in each other,
now if one word comes out wrong
I have to run for cover.

It seems we don’t get on at all
just ruin each others life,
acting like opponents
instead of husband and wife.

There was so much passion
we thought that it was fate,
but now it looks as though somehow
our love has turned to hate.

I just can’t take this any more
my heart is on my sleeve,
so do me one last favour
close the door as you leave.
