Far Away

I pictured myself far away
under a canopy of trees
As if I weren't in the city today
Feeling the warm sea breeze

As I lay on the concrete drive
And in quiet closed my eyes
Feeling suddenly more alive
Picturing myself in a world of lies

I awoke and above me saw many a star
And not the even distant rumbling of a car
And for a second thought I'd gone afar
It was just incredibly bizarre

And just as I was ready in glee to shout
I realized it was just that the power was out
And my dream right there was shattered
But the five minutes of bliss was all that mattered :)

Very well written Laura- ever in search of elusive bliss. I like how you eased in that it was a dream, nice.
