Vijay Pandit is credited with the italicized words in the last line of this poem as taken from his poem, “I Think I Know Why the Ocean Flows”
I think I dream far more often than I think.
I prefer not logic, but creative ink.
Rational thoughts go until they hit stop
while fantasies omit a bottom and top.
I think birds fly south ahead of winter’s cold
to continue playing where sun turns fun gold
and all bored Salmon fight their way upstream
because a vigorous swim ignites fertile dreams.
I think no living creature lives life nocturnal
due to daytime fact writing in their journal
but because they much prefer an active night
where heaven’s bright stars bolster dreams to ignite.
Seas dislike their still facts being all man knows,
so, clearly, I think I know why the ocean flows.
