Family Tree
My roots run true and deep on my family tree
If I tried branchin’ out – it wouldn't be me
Got my grandpa’s hair my daddy’s good heart
Both their stubborn streaks and momma’s smarts
Yeah my roots run true and deep on my family tree
I go with the flow till the flow don’t wanna last
I start too slow and get to the end too fast
I’m hopeless romantic like my uncle Joe
I keep carryin’ on when it’s time to let go
I go with the flow till the flow don’t wanna last
I’m not much on stickin’ to plans
I roll with the dice and I land where I land
You could say the apple doesn’t fall far from the limb
Cause if you met my pops I’ll remind you of him
If home is where the heart is I’m where I’m where I’m s’posed to be
Yeah my roots run true and deep on my family tree
I’m big on tradition - and short on reasons to leave
Take me as I am - or let me be, let me be
I’m not much on stickin’ to plans
I roll with the dice and I land where I land
You could say the apple doesn’t fall far from the limb
Cause if you met my pops I’ll remind you of him
If home is where the heart is I’m where I’m where I’m s’posed to be
Yeah my roots run true and deep on my family tree
