Falling Leaves
This canopy seems here a day before the tree casts it away
to live upon decay and feed where through the soil the old leaves bleed.
The nourished water that it drinks created by nature’s instinct
for perpetuity of life based on the theme of sacrifice.
And are we not nature’s own child, for all our posturing, of the wild,
discipling like the falling leaf so loss gives new life its release.
