Falling Joy
Falling down from the clouds
A gift showered from above
Covering like a grey shroud
Fitting like a glove
Little drops of precious life,
Free upon the air,
But it can cut like a knife,
When it falls from way up there.
Yet to feel the droplets upon your face
When it is upturned to the sky
Make you feel in the lord’s embrace
But you just cannot explain why.
To go splashing in a puddle,
Can fill you full of mirth,
It feels like a loving cuddle,
So special upon this earth.
It washes clean your tired soul,
When the world just gets to tough
It can fill up that aching hole
The makes you seem so rough
It brings life to all things green,
That exist upon this earth,
The flowers, trees and things unseen,
The mosses and grassy tuft.
Where would we be without the rain?
A desert in more ways then one,
A life without a single grain
Of happiness under the sun.
