Falling Into Ocean, Sinking Into Sea

Like falling into stillness - like stars that make no sound, I’m falling into ocean; there’s nothing I can do, and ever since a person’s birth, there is no solid ground. Teardrops made this ocean, and with all humanity, I’m foundering while drowning, sinking into sea. Time, the endless grains of sand, surrounds these depths of blue. After so much time, who’ll remember you or me? And at this ocean’s bottom, whatever will be found?

This is beautiful and yet sad. We can feel like we are sinking to the bottom and if we do who will miss us. Deep thoughts about who will remember us when we are gone. See my new poem you gave me some inspiration to write it. I have so much of a writers block recently. love phyl

Even when you must write using a "specific rhyme scheme," you always pen meaningful verse, Andrea. The next to last line is a subject I explored with Paul in "The Day She Disappeared." Time clears the slate; we are forgotten. Carl Sandburg explored this as well in his poem "Grass." Deep and profound poetry, my friend. You're Aces!

Dismally floundering, a real sinking feeling in your aptly written words Andrea. Good luck with the contest.
