Falling

Comparing who you are with who you used to be
Is a distance that is so far yet so easy to see
With every step taken and each line that was crossed
Your faith has become shaken and has been basically tossed

No longer black and white but just a continual sheet of grey
For you are always right no matter what anyone might say
With no rules to follow and no direction to heed
A soul that would be hollow but for the pride and greed

For as quickly as today has begun it is already ending
And what have you done as so many fences still need mending
Now on that slippery slope you have so little control
And there is so little hope to one who neglects his soul

Come in off that ledge and lay down your sword
And to the Lord make a pledge to change your chord
He will stop your fall and raise you up on High
But you have to listen for His Call and you have to start to try
