Falling

Falling By Kevin Robey September 26, 2013 Cornfield and patches of grass compose the liner notes My heart laid out beneath me with approaching noise Hazardous waste litters the sunburst sky that I wrote My eyes grip my fate like a part from a broken toy Passing through the fog the fields are clearer now The wind flows through my hair without a sound Filling my mind with more than words could allow Couldn’t see roads before, people running around No flashbacks now, I stay in the present time The beach that only sunlight had ever known I see the walls we built that we had to climb I see the lighthouse that once guided me home Now the rushing air is the only voice I hear Telling me the truth behind every single lie Running in circles every day out of fear Numb and insane as I bleed from my eyes I’ll soon join the crowd and their daily song Monotone replies disguise the darkness inside Marching along to a world where I’ll belong The final resting place for the last of my pride The fields are getting closer as dreams leave the air Fondly recall the days my feet were on the street I fall to the waiting ground without a hint of despair Alone, I wake to discover that very day in repeat I open my eyes to the fire that brought your sunrise And turn from the hand that brought me all this pain I’ll never forget a single one of our bright blue skies As I walk along this lonely road of broken names
