Falling
Within darkness of limp aging dream
a darker shadow lay in wait
time was weapon for time
dreams fought dreams too late
Too late that time in orchard row
with fruit already fallen
too late that time in travel
with arrival only to depart
in forever out for now
was it not strange
how it rolled with square edges
Too late this time for fairy tales
goblin and ghouls must wait
while reality's got hold of time
and severs at the throat
one season one season at a time
So eye in time rolls in sockets
made from sculptured skull
to look behind itself
at darkness and waiting darker shadow
Bonds in mind so intertwined
a thought can not survive
as darkness tightens grip
and shadows show the way
Slipped from edge into endless
pit of wonder but was it not strange
how i rolled with square edges
remembering fruit fell too late that year
