Fall
Summit plummet, the bottom drops out,
the ground is hauled away,
and with neither scream nor shout
vertigo wells and rules the day.
Nihilist nausea, the discontent,
dizzy emptiness the magnet drags
emotions on abrupt descent
identified love by mortuary tags.
Clawing, clutching remnant straws,
in turmoil from your curtain call,
by your decree, you are the cause,
the reason why I fall.
Marvellous malice, the savage seal,
sets steely on my aching brow,
hooked and sunk, adrift, unreal,
not knowing of why or how...
