Fake

Fake

It’s sad that we can’t believe what we see day to day.

And the actors are always ready to put on a play.

They put on the charm and send a smile your way.

But when things come to an end, you know they were fake.

I pray that the light I see in your eyes is for me.

I pray your smile isn’t just a mask for me to see.

I pray the warmth I feel comes from your heart.

I pray together we finish what we start.

Only time will tell and that’s the chance we take.

May the same hold true for you and none be fake.
