Faithless

Selfless, a goal so pure
But means there aren’t my cure
Hiding in your thought out lies
Biding time with all you despise

Painting faces on a wall
Build it up until we crawl
Desperation has us caught
But in this place, it’s all that we’ve got

Heal me faithless
Close my eyes
Help me find that peace of mind
Nothing here, no matter where I see
Nothing out there, it’s only me
This test of patience has me down
I’m caving in and I can’t hear a sound

Fighting wars that don’t exist
Except within us, building mist
I know what plagues me and why I try
But peace of mind I’ll reach when I die

Delightful progress
The future hopeless
Foundation soulless
All fear becomes us
