Faithless

I don’t believe in you anymore
your lies and deceptions
had me cornered
for a time
you were my lover
a liar
a cheater
my prison

You started out so large
larger than life
whispered
in my head
you were my god
a freak
a fake
my foe

It’s not as if you were some
precious, pure dream
free of fault
rescuing me
you were my downfall
a mate
a gift
my vision
