Fairytale of Acceptance
Once upon a time
Our love was divine
When it was just us two,
During a time before we knew
That our lives
Were too busy
And seeing each other
Became a difficulty.
My realisation awoke,
Thus into pieces, my heart broke.
Many tears I shed
Feeling my soul had bled
For the person I thought
Was the only one
But, of course,
I was wrong.
We believed we'd stay friends
Despite drunken texts I'd send
However months passed,
Our heartbreak didn't last,
And now I'm happy to say
There is nothing I regret
Nor anything I can forget
Although I can look back
On our memories
Without getting upset.
I accept I've lost you.
Now, I can move on.
