Fairy Feet

the gentle tap of dainty fairy feet
as they dance the night away.
see the last flicker of their wings
as their feet disappear into the midnight air.
hear them tap their shoes.
see them go into orbit and land at twilight.
hear their little whispers and cries for help
as a goblin snatches them away.
and all that's left is a pair of fairy shoes.

I wrote this for the poetry explorers in 2009 and it went forward and was published in the book.
