Fairy Concert

Fairy Concert The fairies are sitting down On clouds of puffy white, Waiting for the concert That's supposed to begin tonight. They were all dressed up Invitations were wrapped in envelopes of gold, They were held, in their tiny hands There was no need, for tickets to be sold. The concert lights came on There was a hush through the crowd, The maestro balanced himself on the toadstool He stood tall and proud. As the music played The fairies sat and hummed, All of a sudden, they sat quietly When the fairy with the lute, softly strummed. After the concert was over There were loud cheers from the crowd, The audience stood on their feet And the fairies on stage, took their bows. Copyright Cynthia Jones July.11/2006

This is the kind of poetry my daughter loves. Sometimes, she makes me read her poems fro poetry soup. I enjoyed the sitting imagery, fairies relaxing and waiting. Thank you for sharing a very entertaining poem, ends well... Love LINDA

Hey there Jan. Thank you so very much for stopping by to have a read and leave a comment. I truly appreciate it. I have quite a few Fairy tales to put into a children's book, just need to find a publisher. *S* Cynthia
