Fairies Among the Flowers

I’m certain you’re convinced I’m crazy
It’s quite the opposite actually
I’m far too sane
viewing the world clearly as crystal
as opposed to through a veil
as many do obscuring the truths they don’t dare
permit themselves to see for they’re too painful
It’s easier to pretend they aren’t there
constructing castles in the air on clouds of folly
which collapse for lack of a firm foundation
the rubble hurtling to the ground like hail
due to the gravity of reality’s revelations
So few are fortunate to be granted the means
or the opportunity to realize their dreams
Hard work is only half the story
the rest of the tale remaining untold
Someone has to care
Such people are as rare
as spying a fairy flitting among the flowers
or leprechauns guarding their pots of gold
