Fair Day

In a Ferris wheel I feel like I can touch the sky, the view and blue beauty makes me want to cry. The merry-go-round would make us so dizzy, our hair would stand up and be frizzy. The roller coaster with its up and downs, filled our faces with laughs and not frowns. This running around make us want to eat, so off to get popcorn for our special treat. Then off to ride the whip, a fitting ride to finish our fair trip.

Summary: As a young child (ages 3 to 7) a very dear friend would take me to the fair. My parents would not go on any of the rides. Mary in her forties, would run around from ride to ride just like she was a kid again.

What a beautiful story in poetic form. I always loved rides and my parents would only ride a few with us. I still go on some of the thrill rides if someone asks me too. Enjoyed this one Paula :) hugs

I love this fun, uplifting poem, Paula. The same attractions you saw at the fair were also on the boardwalk when I was growing up. You brought back great memories. Thank you and best wishes in the contest, Carolyn

Imagine eating popcorn and then riding the 'Whip' now. On second thought, Don't!!!! … Once ate waffles with syrup and guzzled a can of coke. Then went on the Ferris wheel and got stuck at the top. Just guess what happened to those waffles and that Coke. No, again, please don't guess... Thanks, Paula! ~ Gershon

Guess you also have memories of the rides. I would never go on the whip now. The merry-go-round is now for me. Thanks for your note and enjoy your day............
