Fading Memory
FADING MEMORY
My memory’s fading day by day,
I wish it didn’t go that way!
I’d like recalling of those days
When I would preach and give God praise.
I’d like to call each friend by name,
But sadly, memory is not the same.
I’d like to be with family near
And share some memories we have here.
But, here I am, new place to be
And wishing for my memory.
But though my mind has now grown weak,
I know that God’s face I can seek.
His memory never fails the test,
He knows for me what’s always best.
He won’t forget that day I came
And by faith trusted in His name.
He won’t forget that call to me
To preach His word and faithful be.
He will stay with me every day
Till it’s His will to go away
To that new home, that mansion fair
Forever be there in His care!
So, though my memory’s not the same,
I still can call upon His name
And know He hears my every plea,
He’ll never leave or forsake me!
