Fading Meadow
The fog is heavy,
I can see the wisps drifting by
in their melancholy way.
Quiet is all that's present,
my partner in crime.
Eyes skimming the horizon,
my heart beats fast.
Where is this land I walk?
Is it better than what I left?
It must be,
I am here now,
and I feel myself interrupt
the silence.
My feet beat the ground
with loud thumps,
cracking the dried leaves.
It's beautiful here. Snapshot.
I take a picture,
and it all fades away.
The peace is gone,
non existent anymore.
I throw the camera,
the vile machine that ruined it,
and walk home.
