Fade To Nothing
A common silence, deprived of its mystery
These eyes are hiding; I know it will help me see
A common witness, deprived of his pleasant dreams
His faith still fading, perhaps he will die for free
This phasing angel, hung from the sun-lit sky
Such lovely promise, but only when I still cry
This empty demon, hung from the darkest night
Such lack of feeling, but only because I’ve died
I fade to nothing, torn down to quiet plague
The twilight winter will never forgive the day
I fade for nothing, broken by where I stay
But gates are open, and happiness can’t remain
Another ageless, grim-looking inner ghost
He’s almost real, the mirror is coming close
Another answer, I bury what I love most
He’s ever closer, the mirror deceives my soul
I fade to silence, deprived of the voice I need
These ears deceive me, and I no longer see
The fading witness, starved by his own good deeds
His faith is empty, the ghost has stolen every dream
