Fact of the Matter ?

I talked with some children a while ago
and asked what they were learning in school.
They were in the second grade or so.
I was surprised to hear,
that humans came from monkeys,
...now , ...isn't that dear?
This is dedicated to those teachers,
and there are a few,
Who teach old and antiquated fables,
unproven hypotheses with fact labels.

I am a Christian, and am interested,
in all facts of science proven true,
Not in lies that are agenda infested.
I have no fear of facts, why do you ?
It is said that when scientists
climb a mountain of learning so fair,
After they struggle and finally reach the top,
they find a theologian sitting there.
Science is the search for truth,
laws proven and acknowledged,
not desperate flaws from an atheistic college.
Teaching outdated hypotheses as fact,
is not science; you ought to know that.
If you have an agenda to prove there is no God,
you may find out differently ,when under the sod.

Well, I think I got your big bang,
you think you're an evolved orangutan,
That first line may be true,
but the second only works for you.
Don't teach our children
the twisted lies you want them to see.
Think what you will,
but leave them out of your family tree.
Evolution is part of the solution, but it cannot cross a class.
Here is a lesson for you.
Take a donkey...
It's in a different class.
A monkey is a monkey....
...and an ass is an ass...
Now be real careful in this matter
or..
you'll evolve into the latter.

. May God be with us all in our search for the Truth.

Congrats Robert on this thought provoking poem being featured. I believe we evolved but once we were given an immortal soul we became man. I believe we need to keep searching for the truth but keep our faith strong.

Hee haw! I guess I am one of those Darwinian fellows, but, believe it or not, I have an open mind. I enjoyed this one so much. Congrats on the selection. Love, daver

HI, Robert. I enjoyed the humor in this. I'm a Christian, however, I often wonder if there are things we simply do not know (have not been yet told), things that could explain the things science keeps finding out. Something "in between" what we think we know and what may be reality. I think if a child is brought up properly in his church by parents who have values, then learning evolution cannot stain him. It's still "science" and at least in higher levels, should be taught. LUv,Andrea

That is a great write indeed..It conveys the erratic world that enraptures us all... I believe that having to confront all the lies and "untrue facts" and having the ability to distinguish them is what really makes us evolve =) Thank you for this write... The young one, Farah

Strongly said and has me laughing out loud at the end. Robert, I share you concern about teaching evolution as fact. That's why I started my creation writings. Bridging the gap talks about things that seem scientific and that researchers might just understand> and later, believe in God. That is my hope. Save the children, STOP those DISTORTED not quite facts evolutionary THEORY. Stand strong. God is love and He is watching. Let the children find Him and learn righteousness.>better world.
