Face the Truth

I wonder who you are?
I wonder who I see?
Will you face the truth to be set free?

Always worried about others.
Focus on you.
You choose to run from conviction instead of embracing the truth.

What will it take for you
to realize there's a better life?
Your heart is consumed by all these bitter lies.

You've sheltered your emotions.
You've raised your guard.
Life is so much easier, yet you seem to make it hard.

Your stuck in a rut
With no way out.
False hope you rely on, but still there's constant doubt.

You're sinking quicker
into a trap that can't be sprung.
The only way to escape is to trust in the ONE.

You have to live your life
And have some faith.
For we're not guaranteed another day.

But if you should fall.
Don't ever fret.
You can make a choice that you'll never regret.

Serve the Lord
with all your heart.
Begin a new life with a brand new start.

When you face the truth
It sets you free

Yes.....and lean not on our own understanding....love that verse and how u have integrated it into your song. I have had more than my share of fresh starts....it's all in the sincerity and how God reads our hearts. Curious if you have ever had a lyric utilized by a singer? Blessings. Gwendolen

Unfortunately, no. I actually have a wild and crazy dream of someday moving to Nashville and trying my hand at song-writing. I can also sing, but I'd prefer to write. It would be pretty awesome, considering Nashville is not that far from Arkansas. Thanks for all your wonderful comments and reviews:)

Actually, my dear, that's exactly what I did:) I was driving to an ex girlfriends house, when I decided that my 2001 Honda Civic would be better suited as a boat:D Luckily, the Lord was watching over my goofy butt and I escaped without any harm......other than my manly pride of course;)
