Eyes Tightly Closed
I find it hard to say no
Not because I'm weak
When someone feels uncertain,
And a listening ear doth seek
I listen carefully to everything they say.
And try to give the best advice,
To help their worries fade away.
I feel honoured that they trust me,
To confide in me for sure,
I worry they see weakness,
And think I am a pushover what's more.
Have I had my eyes closed
Or choose not to see
I now have the feeling
Some have tried to make a monkey out of me.
This awakening causes me concern,
It puts me in a different state of mind.
I know it's not a weakness.
It should be normal to be kind.
