Eyes That Hold the Truth
I stand staring into the mirror,
hoping that my eyes decieve me.
I look away in fear of mosing my sight,
I cannot believe that I see.
I gaze into a lake as I walk through the park,
I quickly turn and begin walking away.
Strange thoughts appear in my head and haunt my mind,
as I recall the look of the monster from the previous day.
For some reason I am never able to understant,
why it is that I view myself so poorly.
My hatred for myself and my lack of self esteem,
causes me to believe that nobody can love me.
Then I gaze into the eyes of the one who holds my heart,
I throw away my negative thoughts and finally wave goodbye.
They eyes that hold the truth,
show me that mirrors and lakes can lie.
