Eyes Burning Red

The back of my throat’s on fire again
From the taste of my tears mixed with my favorite bourbon
Yeh, I dropped the ball It’s nobody’s fault but my own
That I’m here and you’re gone

Baby I sure miss you
How you doin’ without me
It’s so hard to breathe
Knowin’ you’re not around me
Can’t run from the truth
Ain’t found a way yet
With a heart turnin‘ black
And eyes burnin’ red

You’re the song in my head that haunts me each night
I can’t block it out and I can’t make it right
I just lie in this bed and try to forget I ever tasted your love
But It’s hopeless because

Baby I sure miss you
How you doin’ without me
It’s so hard to breathe
Knowin’ you’re not around me
Can’t run from the truth
Ain’t found a way yet
With a heart turnin‘ black
And eyes burnin’ red, oh
And eyes burnin’ red, oh

I’ve soaked every pillow I’ve prayed every prayer
But I’m still broken and you’re still not here

Baby I sure miss you
How you doin’ without me
It’s so hard to breathe
Knowin’ you’re not around me
Can’t run from the truth
Ain’t found a way yet
With a heart turnin‘ black
With a heart turnin‘ black
And eyes burnin’ red, oh
And eyes burnin’ red
