Eyes

seeing is looking through your eyes
and having a picture in front of you
we all see something very different
but to each of us it's personally true

We have a special gift
two eyes through which we see
so much to make them precious
for more important than your knee

All the colours of the rainbow
we see them all right there
what beauties does behold us
it's so lovely not having to glare

But some are not so blessed
they are folk blind from birth
others also by accident or other
to them it is no mirth

So be always in remembrance
consider those not blessed as you are
having eyes to see all around
even up above to the highest star

Sight is a wonderful thing to have, and too often we take it for granted.... I really enjoyed your well rhymed poem, Gordon! Great work!.... You might enjoy my poem titled, "Ever-Bright Eyes".
