Eye Suppose

The white lie powers-that-be
want to pink eye me,
try to git me to walk around blindly
Pretending I don’t see
their yellow reign of abuse
cowardly pissing down on
us black-and-blue trees —
Scarred scarlet hearts
with the wilting brown leaves
Hoping with violet intensity
for a forever
corona orange blossoming

Eye suppose
a rainbow reckoning
is forthcoming firebrand shortly
God-given with ark surety,
a guaranteed brimstone certainty

Eye suppose
that’s all the faith me thirsty soul
gon ever hunger need
to famine overcome my wretched disbelief
In the peaceful by-and-by,
valley of promise, me wanna be buried

Eye suppose
when the Lord pass out
those shiny, righteous white clothes
Every evil, dark eye
finally gonna be green casket closed
