Extraordinary

Many have told me I hold a great mystery,
That if they look into my eyes they see an unknown history,
Little do they know, there is nothing I need to hide,
I am an extraordinary rose with a few thorns on my side,
For the world that I live in has let me down many times before,
But I always arise, after I hit the floor,
And yes I am a princess despite
What others have tried to say,
For every woman is, in her own unique way,
My kingdom awaits me after my flesh becomes dust,
I don’t need to be enticed by superficial lust,
Many have questioned how I have survived,
I tell them it’s because I am just like the tide,
I ascend than descend because of forces that affect,
However, I am not concerned with what this world calls perfect,
This life is uncertain; our time here is fleeting,
The mystery to me is what keeps my heart- beating.
