Today thank a veteran Open your heart let them in Tell them how much you appreciate All their sacrifice, its not to late To let them know how much they mean All the horror they have seen Will never be lost in their minds Take a few minutes time To make them feel that you care With some kind words that you share Or buy them a snack or drink Please dont ever think Veterans or memorial day Is the only time to say Thank you for what you have done Every day when you find someone In uniform, dog tags, or hat Reach deep down and express that You would not be here or free If they weren't who they're meant to be
