Expressing My Dilema

From happiness to sorrow
from frustrated to pleased
another new tomorrow
and another emotion teased
Cheerful, loving, passionate
despairing, desperate, used
First I'm feeling confident
the next I feel abused
The words cannot express
the dilemma deep inside
and I cannot confess
although God knows I've tried
the feelings that keep taunting
through day and in my sleep
a feeling more like haunting
harried, scared and deep
Depression is the monster
that chains me in the dark
and makes me feel inferior
and silences the lark
Expression is the key
to releasing these dark chains
but I just don't seem to see
the light to end these rains

Sounds like a manic attack... such a jumble of emotions with no resolution. Well done!

Trudy very touching poem. The "Eagles" have an old song. Part of the lyrics says, "So often times it happens, that we live our lives in chains, and we dont even know we have the key" Do whatever it takes to turn that key. This is a sad but great write. Its so true for so many of us.. God bless you Tudy and comfort your heart. Michael

Your rhyming expression is incredible. Subject matter is easy to relate to. Though different for everyone, we all have our darkness, as we all have our light. Hoping your days are mostly bright. Yes, I agree, expression is key. Love, Shar
