Exploring Amberjack

Deep beneath the emerald-green water Off the coast of Sarasota, Florida, Five young divers and an experienced spotter Searched for the so-called blue hole “Amberjack.” We skirted the edges down a hundred feet And soon found ourselves facing darkness [Even with our T-H Marine LED lamps], before Facing shark-rich depths, a perilous feat. Keeping an eye on our lowering oxygen gauges We had signaled to slowly ascend in five When we spotted a pair of amberjack sharks Entertaining for us, an experience for the ages. Exciting and scaring story that takes one's breath away, dearest L. Milton. I was lucky in comparison when in a canoe in Florida's national park I saw a full size alligator swimming in close proximity. Excellently written , my friend. Good luck on the contest. Blessings.

I would have died with the heart attack. Alligators scare the bejesus out of me because they are purely instinctual and will attack anything that moves!

A learning curve here for me Milt, love it when a poem as well as being poetic is packed with interest.

You wouldn't be that 'experienced spotter,' would you?! --- Oh, pardon me. Now I realize that you are one of those 'five young divers.' Sounds like you spotted those whales just in the nick of time. G.L. in the contest. Cheers, Gershon

Nope, not me, G.W. I'm more of a snorkeler! Thanks for the read.
