Expensive Thoughts
She fidgets in a restless state
Tapping her thumbs and feet
A shift without a break
Repeating a thumping beat
Those around, engage
Indulging in conversation
A parrot in a cage
Gritting teeth to the vibration
Bothersome to her peers
How she doesn't seem to care
The air between her ears
And a dull, blank stare
She hates to be "that girl"
The one who can't lay back
On her shoulders, is the world
It's too busy to relax
She sees the bigger picture
Won't be bothered with small talk
Craves intensity in the mixture
Pennies won't pay her thoughts
