Expensive School Holidays
Expensive children’s holidays!
By Stanley Russell Harris
The new mad author
How many families go to Disney World?
When it is oh so dear!
After all it’s only make-believe.
Nothing there is real I fear.
So it’s a world of fantasy.
Nothing there is real.
But as it is for children!
Why don’t parents unite and deal.
Disney World might haggle.
You might get block bookings not too dear.
If you all club together!
In school holidays do you hear?
If Disney World knew your numbers!
And if there, you do not go.
They might just make a deal.
So their way, your money will flow.
Other countries might be difficult.
However, in these days of web sites and e-mails.
Share your intended holiday destination.
And haggle jointly every year.
This poem came about by the High Court case on appeal deciding it was not a parents right to take a child out of school in term for holidays.
