Expectations Under Wraps on Christmas Eve

wild hammering and disciplined screwing
of elves in Santa’s workshop -
will toys be fiddled with…

an exotic sleigh
and a ho ho ho drives hard
through the dark of night

unlike the North Pole the blinking lights sleep
as Santa rides down in chimney sweep
