Expectations

Expectations



Anxiety clips the mind over what you should expect
As it breaks your heart giving you time to reflect
Confusion sets in your head like a small mental defect
Putting your trust in humanity, remember nobody's perfect...

To expect that you'll receive or get something in return
A lesson hard to teach but an even harder one to learn
Not understanding causes grief but no cause for concern
Everybody selfishly doesn't care what bridges they burn...

So remember when you give, give straight from the heart
If you expect special treatment expect to be torn apart
A lesson chalked up learned now begin a fresh new start
Feeling a little bit wiser for someone who's not that smart...
