Exotica-Soul

Song Of Songs 6:5a: Turn your eyes from me; they overwhelm me.

EXOTICA-SOUL

Like a violent storm in a glass jar,
your eyes dazzle —
in wonderment my cheeks swell
morphing into the color of a pink sunset
and my lashes cover my eyes.
I sigh and my heart beats against
the shores of my jugular, wrists,
behind my diamondiferous ears.

Yet your eyes pierce through the curtain
of my shrouded irises,
and deeper still
studying me,
drawing out the Tyrian purple passion
that you desire to include
in your exotica-soul.

What rapture will we unleash together —
I’m excited but afraid,
yet your strong and gentle palm
embraces the curve of mine
with confidence. . .

I steal a look into my future groom;
I’m doomed to love him —
crimson, like dawn, warms my insides. . .
unabashed, unafraid.

There is so much sensual tension in this, and love too. Well well well! I imagine you have a very happy husband!
